Studio Policies
SEDC policies are designed to maintain a safe, positive, and organized environment for every dancer, family, and faculty member. By following these guidelines, we can work together to keep classes running smoothly and allow our dancers to focus on learning, growing, and enjoying their dance experience.
Class Etiquette
Food, gum, and drinks other than water are not permitted inside the dance rooms.
Hair must be neatly secured away from the dancer’s face before class.
Dancers must arrive in the required class attire and dance shoes.
Cover-ups should be worn when entering and leaving the studio.
Dancers may not leave class early without permission from their instructor.
Students and visitors must behave respectfully and appropriately in the classrooms and waiting areas.
Dancers must remain inside the building while waiting for class or for a parent or guardian to pick them up.
Please label all dancewear, shoes, and personal belongings with your dancer’s name.
SEDC reserves the right to dismiss any student whose behavior repeatedly disrupts the class or negatively affects the studio environment.
Code of Conduct and Social Media Policy
Studio Edge Dance Company is committed to providing professional dance instruction in a safe, encouraging, and welcoming environment.
Disrespectful, aggressive, bullying, or consistently uncooperative behavior will not be tolerated.
Dancers and families are expected to treat instructors, staff members, fellow dancers, and other SEDC families with kindness and respect.
Students may not speak negatively about or intentionally exclude other dancers or faculty members.
Inappropriate, harmful, or slanderous comments regarding SEDC, its staff, dancers, or families—including comments made on social media—may result in dismissal from the studio.
Concerns should be addressed privately and respectfully. Parents may email the studio or schedule an appointment with the Studio Director to discuss the matter.
Attendance
Consistent attendance is essential to each dancer’s growth and to the progress of the entire class. We understand that absences due to illness, family emergencies, or travel may occur; however, families should avoid scheduling appointments and other activities during class time whenever possible.
Dancers may be permitted to attend an appropriate makeup class when available. Makeup classes are not guaranteed, and missed classes do not qualify for reduced, prorated, or refunded tuition.
Holidays and Weather Closures
SEDC generally follows Eagle Pass Independent School District for weather-related closures. If classes are canceled because of severe weather or unsafe conditions, families will be notified through email and/or the Parent Portal, and updates may also be shared through SEDC’s social media channels.
Scheduled holidays and studio closures will be communicated through the SEDC calendar. Tuition is not prorated for scheduled closures because monthly tuition is calculated based on the full dance season rather than the number of classes held in a particular month.
Payment Policies
Monthly tuition is calculated according to the full dance season and is not prorated based on the number of classes held each month.
Tuition must be paid by the 3rd of each month to avoid a $25 late fee.
Registration fees are nonrefundable.
Tuition and other studio fees are nonrefundable unless otherwise stated by SEDC.
If SEDC must cancel a special event, camp, or workshop, the applicable fee may be credited toward another eligible program within the same session at the studio’s discretion.
Credits from summer programs may not be transferred toward fall tuition unless approved by the Studio Director.
Withdrawal Policy
A minimum of two weeks’ written notice is required to withdraw a dancer from class. Notice must be submitted by email or delivered directly to the studio.
The current month will serve as the dancer’s final month of classes. Tuition that has already been processed or auto-drafted will not be refunded if withdrawal notice is received after the payment date. Verbal notice given to an instructor is not considered an official withdrawal.
